**LONDON** — In a landmark ruling that has sent shockwaves through both the British legal establishment and the high-stakes community of vintage Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) collectors, the Court of Appeal has quashed the murder conviction of Benjamin Field, a former church warden previously jailed for the killing of a university lecturer.
The decision, handed down in London on Thursday, marks a stunning reversal in a case that captivated the public not only for its themes of psychological manipulation and “gaslighting” but also for the unusual role that high-value collectibles played in the alleged motive.
